Ron hired me in 1988. Other than his brief stint at Singapore, he remained my boss till he left Bahrain in 2000. We all reflect on our working lives and careers at some stage, and some persons loom large in our destiny! Ron was one such person, who made that difference and helped craft my career path! Always a mentor and guide, he had time for everybody, which perhaps explained the long hours he kept in office!! After his days in Bahrain, we kept in touch with Ron and Gill, who visited us, and more recently graced us with their presence at my son's wedding reception. Smiling and cheery, somebody who was so trusting, he truly leaves an indelible mark in our lives. His mentee and friend, Abhi.
