We have many happy memories of Ron at family gatherings - mine initially when Gill first introduced him to us before they were married, and in more recent years when we cousins met annually in the Summer. We were brought up in Eastbourne and often had our Summer gatherings there, with a picnic an essential ingredient. We smiled and laughed our way through the sunny afternoons, catching up on news of each other. Ron loved to chat to everyone individually, in his quiet and gentle way, and we were always very pleased to see him. Last year we had a really lovely day in Alfriston with Gill and Ron, lunching together at a pub and then touring Alfriston and its Clergy House. Of course the day ended with cream teas at the Tea Rooms, and Ron laughed at us ordering 'lashings of tea' as one pot would certainly not be enough! Happy memories. Thank you, Ron.
