Elaine 8th July 2020

My husband, also called Ron, is Gills cousin and first met Ron (Upstone) at the time of their wedding. It was when they were living in Eastbourne that I first recollect meeting them both. We were on holiday in the nearby village of Alfriston, and were invited to tea/supper; Gayle and Mark were young, only just at school. I'm unsure of the actual timing, but it wasn't long after that they went off to Bahrain, with communications, such as they were, being by post. Apart from one occasion when Gill was back in the UK, we didn't meet up with them again until their return. We have so many happy, wonderful memories of them in Eastbourne, Ninfield, Melton Mowbray and Italy. Ron was such a kind, thoughtful, generous man, always welcoming with big smiles and hugs to match. He has left his "foot prints" on our hearts, where his memory will always shine bright. At 2.45pm on the 6th July 2020, we had Prosecco and tears.
